Master’s Thesis description
At Netnod we mainly design security through diversity, that is by composing systems through many different nodes in many different levels so that there is no single point of failure. In terms of security our systems focus on providing availability and integrity, even in extreme scenarios.
There is, however, no standard or agreed on way of quantifying the security of such a system. Qualitatively, our premium services have full redundancy and no downtime at service level at all, but we need a way to quantify our robustness, or uptime, in verifiable numbers.
This thesis concerns the creation or design of such a quantifying scheme.
The thesis should preferably be done by two students, 30hp each during the spring of 2024.
Netnod will provide an on-site supervisor with relevant academic qualifications.
Netnod will also provide necessary equipment and a one time compensation upon completion of the thesis project.
This thesis project is aimed at students in computer science and engineering with an interest in security.
The students should have good language skills in both English and Swedish.
Note: This role is covered by the Swedish Legislation on Protective Security Act and is subject to security screening and background checks. For this reason, Swedish citizenship is required for the role.
The students are expected to be partly present at the Netnod main office in Solna, Stockholm.
